This Westfield, NJ Tudor home had plenty of architectural character, but its traditional details and darker palette made the living room feel heavier than our client wanted. The goal was to create a sophisticated, comfortable space for relaxing and entertaining while staying true to the distinctive Tudor style of the home.

Rather than work against the existing architecture, we embraced it. The characteristic beige walls and dark wood trim were preserved, while a rich palette of blues brought fresh energy and became the foundation for the room’s design. Custom blue built-ins surrounding the stone fireplace add both function and visual impact, while a mix of comfortable seating, tailored furnishings, and layered textures creates an inviting setting for everything from casual evenings at home to entertaining guests.

Hints of orange add warmth and contrast throughout the space, giving the classic Tudor interiors a more current point of view. The result is a living room that respects the character of the original home while feeling lighter, fresher, and distinctly personal.
