Shadowlawn
Westfield, New Jersey
Our clients had lived in this Westfield, NJ home for 14 years, always knowing one day they’d renovate the kitchen. When that time came, the goal wasn’t just new cabinetry or countertops. It was creating a space that better reflected the way they wanted to live. By opening the wall to the dining room, we were able to create a larger, brighter kitchen and a new bar area. The navy island anchors the space, while warm wood, brass lighting, and crisp white cabinetry keep the design feeling timeless. When planning the renovation, we prioritized smart design decisions to make the kitchen work better for our client. Two of our favorite elements of this kitchen are the pop-up outlet built into the island, which allows for easy access to power when needed, and the utility cabinet next to the refrigerator. It gives the vacuum, broom, and other cleaning essentials a designated home, with hooks for hanging items and everything tucked neatly out of sight. As designers, we help our clients think through these details from the start, making sure every part of a kitchen renovation works as hard as it can for how they live.
