Meet the Team Behind Elements Interior Design Studio
Our Story
Marty and Joanne bring together distinct backgrounds in design and technical expertise to create thoughtful, personalized interiors. With roots in the high-end fashion industry, Marty offers a refined eye for aesthetics, color, and styling, while Joanne pairs creative vision with practical know-how—guiding layout changes, custom cabinetry, and material selections. Together, they design spaces that seamlessly balance beauty and function.
Their partnership began unexpectedly as PTO Co-Presidents at a local Westfield school, where their creative synergy quickly became clear. Today, that collaboration lives on as Elements Interior Design Studio.
Our Team
Marty McDevitt
PRINCIPAL & DESIGNER
After years of working in high-end fashion in New York City, transitioning into home fashion and interior design felt like a natural evolution. Marty’s very first residential project was featured on the Westfield Symphony House Tour, with more recent work showcased on the Cranford Holiday House Tour.
Marty is drawn to every phase of the design process—from envisioning what a space could become, to thoughtfully layering materials and finishes, to styling a room with the perfect final touches that bring it all together.
Joanne Turner
PRINCIPAL & DESIGNER
Renovation projects are at the heart of Joanne’s work. She finds inspiration in transforming spaces from a blank canvas into thoughtfully executed interiors—whether designing a jewel box bathroom or a sleek, functional kitchen. With a keen eye for detail, Joanne carefully selects fixtures and finishes that bring each vision to life.
Co-founding Elements Interior Design Studio in her hometown of Westfield has been a long-held dream, one she realized after graduating from The New York School of Interior Design.

Our guiding principles.
At Elements Interiors, we believe…
Our homes are a reflection of who we are and the things we love.
A functional, beautiful, and livable environment is essential to our well-being.
A balance between form and function is achievable through proper planning and design.
Our Story
Drawing from their unique backgrounds, Marty and Joanne merge style with technical expertise. Drawing from her high-end fashion industry background, Marty is masterful in aesthetics, colors, space planning, and styling. With a trained eye, Joanne combines creative vision with practical expertise to reimagine and transform spaces; selecting colors, materials, furnishings, and lighting to enhance a room's aesthetic appeal, while also advising on modifying layouts, installing custom cabinetry, and updating flooring and fixtures. Together, they create beautiful, personalized living spaces that blend form with function.
Sometimes the best partnerships start in unexpected places! Joanne and Marty first met as PTO Co-Presidents at Roosevelt Intermediate School — and anyone who’s ever known a PTO president knows they’re total rockstars. At the time, they each ran their own thriving interior design businesses in Westfield, but their creative synergy was undeniable. So they took the leap, joined forces, and Elements Interior Design Studio was born.

Joanne D. Turner
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
After graduating from the New York School of Interior Design, Joanne began her career at a commercial interior design firm in New York City, but her long-term vision was always to build a design business in her hometown of Westfield, NJ. Today, Joanne focuses primarily on residential design and renovations, though she still welcomes opportunities that allow her to draw on her commercial roots.
Renovations are at the heart of Joanne’s work. She is inspired by transforming spaces from a blank canvas into thoughtfully executed interiors that are as functional for everyday living as they are visually compelling.

Virginia Quinn
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
As part of the Elements team I get to combine my love for beautiful interior design with my experience in management. Keeping our organization running smoothly allows for the creative expertise of our team to shine. When not working at Elements I love ski trips with my family, spending time on Nantucket and singing along to country music.

Marty McDevitt
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
After years of working in high end fashion in NYC it was an easy pivot to home fashion and interior design. My very first client’s home was featured on the Westfield Symphony House Tour and more recently our work was showcased on the Cranford Holiday House Tour.
There are countless aspects to design that I love, from envisioning what could be, to carefully layering in each component of a design, to styling a room with the perfect final touches.
Outside of the studio you can find me cheering at my kids’ hockey games, at the Jersey Shore, or enjoying the outdoors - preferably sitting with my extended family fireside by a lake.
Joanne D. Turner
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
I love renovation projects! It’s exciting to take a space from an empty canvas to a transformative installation. Whether creating a jewel box bathroom or a sleek kitchen, I love selecting just the right fixtures and finishes to bring the vision to life.
Outside of design I enjoy long Peloton rides, meeting new people (and their dogs!), and following a healthy lifestyle — balanced with the occasional cold martini.
Co-founding Elements in my hometown of Westfield has been a dream of mine since I graduated from The New York School of Interior Design.

Alexis Azzaretto
SENIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATE
Being a senior design associate at Elements allows my sense of style to flourish. I love finding beautiful and unique objects to incorporate into our projects. The best part of my job is when I discover something new and unexpected that perfectly elevates a design. When I’m not working for Elements, I can be found at a HITT class, reading a psychological thriller, or at the beach with my family.
Tara Glassmith
DESIGN ASSOCIATE
From preparing presentation materials to communicating with vendors about product orders, I support the team throughout the design process. When I’m not watching my kids on the sports field, you can find me watching the latest crime drama or relaxing on the beach in Stone Harbor.
Gina Tortorella
STUDIO ASSISTANT
From tracking orders to managing our inventory, I keep the studio organized. You can also find me on site with Joanne and Marty during styling and installation days. When I’m not at Elements, I’m usually busy watching my boys at the hockey rink or on the baseball and lacrosse fields. In my free time, I enjoy working out and cooking Italian food for friends and family.
Ricardo Angeles
PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER
I am an artist by trade and pride myself on attention to detail. As part of the Elements team I an involved with all of our project installations. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my twin sons - either hiking trails or taste-testing in our quest to find the perfect pizza slice.
