This fun-loving family wanted a home that truly reflected their vibrant personalities. Although they loved the bones of their new build, the stark, cookie-cutter design and builder-grade finishes lacked the warmth and character they craved. They were ready for a change, and we’re so glad they trusted us to guide the way.

By embracing bold hues, striking patterns, and layered textures, we transformed a blank canvas into a home full of joy, personality, and undeniable “wow” factor. In the kitchen, deep purple cabinetry, a rich blue tile backsplash, marble countertops, and warm wood seating bring color and character to the heart of the home. The adjacent mudroom makes a statement of its own with teal walls, bold floral wallpaper, woven baskets, and practical storage designed for family life.

Throughout the first floor, each space has its own personality while contributing to the overall design. A dramatic dining room pairs black-and-white floral wallpaper with playful animal-print window treatments and classic millwork, while the powder room turns up the pattern with colorful wallpaper and geometric tile. In the family room, a blue velvet sofa, coral ottomans, patterned seating, and dark built-ins create a comfortable space for relaxing and gathering. We also refreshed the wet bar with dark cabinetry, wire-mesh doors, and a marble countertop, creating a stylish spot for entertaining.

The result is a colorful, layered home that feels anything but cookie-cutter. It’s a Westfield, NJ interior design project that proves a new construction home can have just as much personality, character, and warmth as a much older house.
